Description: This cable was made specifically for use in the ASUS ESC4000 server chassis to connect a GPU video accelerator (such as consumer-grade RTX cards, like the RTX 3070) that uses a standard 8-pin PCIe connector for power to the connectors on the PDB of the ESC4000 G3. The PDB connector pinout is different than a standard 4-pin connection so a standard cable will NOT work. The cable is a standard 8-pin PCIe cable, however I put the dual 2x2 connections on the other end, wired to work with the power subsystem in the ASUS ESC4000 G3 chassis. The cable is approximately 7in length and uses 18-gauge wire. Also included are 2 4-pin CPU extension cables. These allow you to connect and disconnect the power from the video accelerator without having to stretch cables too tightly and damaging them, or worse, the video accelerator! Please note that the 8 pin to 4 pin cable is the one that has been modified. The 4 pin extension is a standard cable. You can choose to use your own extension, or none if you would like, but you WILL want to make sure you use the 8 pin to 4 pin cable. If you purchase these cables for use with other video accelerators that use an 8-pin PCIe connector for power, or a different server platform than the ASUS ESC4000 G3, PLEASE validate the wiring is correct for your particular combination.
