There are no hallmarks on the chain, the 2 O rings holding the clasp are not sterling silver, but another magnetic metal. It seems to me that at some point the chain lost its clasp and it was replaced with a new one. The chain was heavenly ( black) tarnished, I cleaned it, still some very minimal tarnish on it.
