Description: Goodbye to Uncle Tom Hardcover – January 1, 1956 Interesting book on race relations from the late 1950's. The author takes great objection to Uncle Tom's Cabin and Ms. Beecher-Stowe's view on slavery and the outcome. His view is that the novel was racist, belittling and wrong on many levels, including not showing the Whites properly, the Blacks properly and the whole system properly. "Slave owners would never have a drink with a slave trader." The book went into the slave trade and the difference of race relationships before 1861 and after. Mainly philosophical than scholarly.
