This RARELY seen image personally signed by Mary is from the seller's limited personal collection of AAGPBL Photos made in 1996. The seller traveled with Mary in support of her efforts to educate the public about the History of the AAGPBL and the importance of fostering "A Level Playing Field" for All Women Athletes. Mary documented over 600 plus speaking engagements including Elementary, Highschools, Colleges, BBC Radio, Ken Burns Baseball, NASA, and more... Mary's AAGPBL baseball career is featured in the pictures on the wall taken in her home with grateful permission in 1996. This pic represents a brief personal insight into Mary's life and a wonderful glimpse into her incredible life in Sports. Pratt's resume of achievements is voluminous. Here are some of her highlights: As an elite athlete versatile in many Sports including Basketball, Field Hockey, and Lacrosse, and Mary was also a practicing Nationally Ranked Official in Softball, Field Hockey and Basketball and President of the Boston Board of Officials holding local officiating clinics. and more.... Mary while playing in the Boston Garden with the Boston Olympets of the New England Softball League, was scouted and invited to join the AAGPBL in 1943. She returned home in 1947 to finish her 48 year teaching career. Mary as a player and coach started her own team, the Quincy Raiderettes. (Mary and her Mom made and sewed for each player the Raiderettes' uniforms in the style of the AAGPBL). Mary played in local exhibition games with the Men's home team in Quincy and traveled with her Raiderettes to the World Softball Tournament in Raybestos Connecticut in 1959 where she was voted MVP as she played against a young Joan Joyce.... and more.
