Description: GILDED PICTURE FRAME - GIRAFFES IN AFRICAN SAVANNA Frame is 6" x 6" x 3/4" Deep Photo Window is 3" x 3" , center in frame The picture opening is made of glass NOT a plastic panel Made from Wood and heavily and completely gilded in a lustrous, rich paint. The frame has a lot of relief - giraffes and acacia trees (?) in the African savanna, the relief starting from the outside edges of the frame and very slightly overlapping the interior opening. The glass panel - because of the relief - is inset ~3/8" from the adjacent middle of frame (please see photos). The frame is slightly antiqued, adding depth, contrast, and more interest. Purchased at PIER ONE in the 1990s Has a photo of a few giraffes in it - will leave the photo inside - it fits nicely. When light hits the frame - it is GORGEOUS! A piece of art itself! The relief ,and layout of trees, giraffes, shrubbery, the antiquing, and the rich gold colors.... WOW!!! The back side is a panel of black leather and the hinged stand.
