Description: I have been using a pair of Patent No. pickups in my #1 LP for almost two decades now and they are awesome! These pickups are no exception and sound wonderful. They are100% original and unmolested. I personally broke the original solder joints to remove the covers. They are very clean and have no issues. The specifications of these pickups place the manufacture somewhere before 1966. They are identical in construction as the later PAF pickups with the short magnets but with a significantly lower price tag. In many people's opinion the tone is every bit as good as many PAF's but without the sticker shock. Original green wire winding on all coils with original tape wrappings on the bobbins. Tape has never been pulled back. A nice matching all original set. Gibson ran out of wire and used green for as short period of time. You can find some pickups that have green and orange wire or just all green like these. It is possible the green was used when the purple ran out and they then transitioned to the orange wire. You can find some information about this on the internet and find other pickups with green wire. Super cool and rare. The current asking price from other sellers is 2k+ per pickup, in not as nice shape.
