The leaves were still healthy well into September. I lost the main vine in early August due to my own grower error. I had a drip line laying on top of the main vine as the main vine exited the stump of the plant. The drip line touching the vine constantly, made it way too wet, and the main vine ended up rotting away in early August. Had I not lost my main vine at the stump, this pumpkin would have easily been several hundred pounds heavier. This pumpkin was grown in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with an elevation over 6,000 feet. We have hail, temperatures in the 40's, and winds in the 50's regularly in the summer, and this pumpkin grew well despite the growing conditions.
