Description: French Antique Large Majestic Louis XV Armoire in Walnut. circa 1840-1880 This is lovely armoire in very nice condition. It measures 94 1/4 inches high (so it willful in a house with the usual 8 foot ceiling). It is 55 inches wide (62 inches wide with the bonnet), and 21 inches deep (23 1/2 inches deep with the bonnet). The four shelves are 17 1/2 x 52 1/2 inches. The locks antique and fully functional, the key works as it should. The passive door has an antique hook. The last two images are taken with daylight only. The armoire is walnut but its is European walnut which is a much lighter wood than American black walnut. The armoire comes apart for transport--two doors, two sides, two-part back, top and bottom, bonnet and shelves. It is doweled together at the rear and has antique twist bolts on the front stretchers.
