This is a common practice for any cardboard cutout you buy anywhere. It needs to be folded to save on shipping. Shipping a folded item generally can cost between $8 to $16 using USPS. If we were to try and ship unfolded, USPS would not even allow a size that big, and if we use Fedex, the cost can range from $80-200 due to the shipping size alone.
