Description: Historical 8.25X11.75 German document from 1936 signed in fountain pen ink, "Karl," by Franz Karl. Some light spotted soiling to the document, otherwise nice. (1888–1964) Franz Karl was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded several divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Franz Karl was captured in 1945, he was released in 1947.
