Description: This beautiful fashion doll is from the Franklin Heirloom Dolls Musical Irish County Collection offered by the Franklin Mint Company in the mid to late 1990’s. This is Colleen of County Cork. She has a lovely peaches and cream complexion made of fine, hand painted bisque porcelain. Her bright, mesmerizing green eyes are accented with large lashes. The glass eyes are fixed and do not close. She has long auburn hair with fashionable ringlets held in a hair net. She is dressed in a striking forest green, taffeta-like fabric outfit befitting a Gibson girl of the 1890’s. The fitted bodice with muttonchop sleeves is accented with a striped fabric that has a metallic crossed strip, black trim and buttons. The widow’s peak cuffs accentuate her delicate, slender hands. The matching skirt has a long, stylish train trimmed with the striped material and accented with matching bows. A flounced bustle in the striped fabric is trimmed with two back velveteen bows. The matching hat with black feather plumes is equally stunning. Under the skirt is a lacy black petticoat, lace trimmed bloomers and leather like high heel shoes with laces. She even has her original dangle earrings. Although her head, hands and lower legs are porcelain, her arms and torso are a densely stuffed cloth which does allow for a little posing of her hands. On her back, about waist high is a small wind-up key for the internal music box that aptly plays the tune; When Irish Eyes are Smiling.
