Description: Here is a genuine fossil trilobite, Odontochile, from Morocco. It lived in the Devonian period, about 400 million years ago. Most scientists believe that Odontochile was a fast-moving sea creature. This particular one, as you can see, is sharply bent in the opposite of enrollment. Must have been a limber one. Hard to say how long this trilobite would be if it were straight. Perhaps about 4 inches. Trilobites are found in very hard rock, and prepped to hide the common cracks. When they are extracted from the ground, they almost always come apart and need to be glued together. The matrix is about 3.5" by 3.6" and 4.1" at its longest length. It weighs 12.9 oz. There are some compound eyes in the front area of the right eye. I think you will need a loupe to see them. A very nice genuine specimen at an affordable price.
