Description: Experience the thrill of adventure with Forest & Frontiers or, Adventures Among the Indians. This antique book, published in the late 1800s by M. A. Donohue & Company in Chicago, is a treasure trove of thoughts & claimed experiences in early Americana. It includes 13 pages of turn of the century advertising and claims to be profusely illustrated (though most of this appears to be the advertising in the back.) This is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts of early American history. The author of this book has been lost to the ages. Many claims are made that it was written by T. M. Newson & William Henry Giles Kingston, yet others claim G. A. Henty, or Roualeyn Gordon-Cumming. The book covers stories of time spent among Native American tribes & hosts many 1880 statistics. It is an original and rare copy. It is bound in hardcover and written in English. This book does show wear consistent with its age. The cover is shelf worn, the hinges are cracked in several places but most of the stitching is intact, the pages are showing light foxing & discoloration from age. There are several stamps from a previous owner, and some ink smears. See pictures for more details. This book is a wonderful addition to any collection, full of history and insights into the age. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of American thoughts and ideas.
