Description: Reynal & Hitchcock, Inc., 1942. 255p. hardcover book has blue cloth-covered boards and gold stamped lettering on the cover and spine. The book is translated into English by Lewis Galantiere, has colorful graphic endpapers, and includes several beautiful b&w illustrations by Bernard Lamotte. This copy is in very good condition - the spine is intact, pages are tightly bound, cover and inside page corners are crisp and largely without wear, and the interior is free of marks. The interior pages are somewhat tanned, possibly from age, and there is some light wear to the cover edges. The dust jacket is in Good condition; the colors on the front and back remain vibrant though it is price clipped and has some tanning, sun exposure on the spine, a number of small dings on the top and bottom cover and edges, and some wear to the edges, focused at the top and bottom of the spine. The dust jacket spine also shows signs of exposure to moisture that did not transfer to the book, and small tears at the top and bottom.
