Back: THE FIRST DIVISION MONUMENT, a beautiful white shaft surmounted with a gold statue of Victory, by David Chester French, was erected to commemorate the heroic deeds of the FIRST DIVISION, A.E.F., in the World War. It was erected by the Memorial Association of the First Division and its friends. The building in the background is the War and State Departments. - Published by B.S.
