Description: This listing is for a Fine Vintage Turkish Silk Hereke or rather exemplary Egyptian Silk Oriental Rug Carpet with Egyptian Pharaohs and Hieroglyphics Motif . I lay weight on it being Hereke as it looks and feels like Hereke silk rugs from that period. It measures 23 1/2 inches by 38 inches. Silk pile on Silk warp and weft. An exceptional Hanging Carpet. It is in Perfect / like new Condition as it has been hanging on wall in a Pet and smoke free and very clean house for its lifetime. It was purchased from estate of a U.S.N. Admiral stationed in Turkey in 1960s and early 70's . Very Good colors. This rug is in excellent condition consisting of approximately 361 knots per square inch ( KPSI ) ( 19 knots wide per linear inch by 19 knots long per linear inch ) . other counts has resulted in a 20x20 ( 400 kpsi ) count.
