Description: This is an exceptionally fine antique Chinese embroidery with two dragons, each having four toes on their claws, embroidered on a golden olive colored silk. The intricate dragon design is a striking representation of traditional Chinese culture. This original antique embroidery dates back to the late 1800s. Please excuse the reflections in the photos. The embroidery was part of a Victorian fire screen. The glass and backing was added to the original frame to preserve its integrity. Framed it measures 24” x 24”. Condition: It is in excellent condition, with no loss or damage to the embroidered dragons. The color is still vibrant. There are three separations on the silk background as shown in the photos, the largest is 1.5”, not very distractive at all. It was acquired over 25 years has been in my personal collection.
