Description: This auction is for an original Ferrari handbook which would have been destined for an owner, in the North American market, of a new 348 Spider model, and specifically relating to the Manufacture Year of 1995, which was the final year of production.The 348 range of cars had debuted in 1989, replacing the 328 model, with the 3.4 litre V8 powered, 348tb and 348ts models. The "t" in the model name refers to the transverse position of the gearbox in relation to the longitudinally mounted engine. This opposite configuration to all previous small mid-engined V6/V8 cars also meant the loss of the rear luggage boot/trunk space!In 1993 these models were modestly revised in terms of design and power output, re-badged as 348 GTB & GTS, and joined in the range by the, fully convertible, 348 Spider.Manufacture would continue until mid-1994 when the GTB & GTS versions were replaced by the F355 Berlinetta and F355 GTS. The following year, 1995, the 348 Spider was also replaced by the F355 Spider version.Road-car production figures, in all markets, for the multiple variants of the 348 range is estimated to have been 8,700 vehicles, with the Spider accounting for almost 1,100 of these between 1993 and 1995.The book, measuring 24cm x 18cm, has 160 inner pages (ring bound) of technical information, illustrations and instruction; with all the usual topics covered in great detail including a full service and maintenance schedule, and instruction for the opening and closure of the spider roof. All the text is in Italian, English, French and German.The factory catalogue number, on the penultimate inner rear page, reads Cat. n. 839/94, but there is no specific print date or quantity stated. This VERY RARE, due to the limited market and time-specific quantity produced, fully 30 years old and owner-unused, book is in good condition but with some light scuff markings to the covers, edges and corners.
