The Vintage Fender Strat- REDEFINED! This 66 Stratocaster NOS/Relic is part of the Dealer Select Master Vintage Player Series (MVP) Limited Edition, built exclusively for Make'n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! These special instruments are custom designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe and look of an actual vintage instrument, but with all the conveniences of a true modern player's piece. This particular guitar is based on our MVP 1969 Stratocaster, but spec’d as a ’66 Strat with the vibe and style of a "Hippie Era" natural refin. It has a Natural Satin Oil finish without distress, but it does have lightly aged Relic hardware and plastics - Ready for your own Wear and Tear. A set of Custom Shop Hand Wound Master Design pickups (Bone Tone in the neck and middle, Master Design Ltd in the bridge) provide plenty of spank, twang, and sparkle, with just enough extra beef in the bridge to keep things sounding meaty and well-balanced overall. Another nifty feature is the push button S1 switch hidden discreetly in the center of the volume knob. When activated this puts the "neck + bridge" pickup combination at your fingertips, for all those Jimmy Page / Ritchie Blackmore type tones - Even a bit of Tele flavor! Of course all the classic Stratocaster sounds you know and love are still there too- Right where they should be. While Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, they play like a dream. The neck profile is our ultra-comfy, custom for Make'n Music "Perfect C" profile. At .825" - .945" it's perfectly shaped to fit in any size hands. Gently rolled edges and 6105 fret wire, along with the flatter 9.5" radius and 1.6875" nut width allow for easier chording and faster leads without fretting out. Adjustments are a breeze too! The Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. Still not convinced?
