HYDROPLANE: MINI MAX - Exactly what the name implies- a boat requiring a minimum in time and materials to build to give you the maximum in performance and water sport fun. Can be built in one day- will take motors from 3 to 15 hp. Safe- this boat will support 900 lbs even with the cockpit completely filled with water. A real great first time boat builder project. MINIMOST -This was my first boat I built so I just love this one- I still think it is the most fun on the water. Stressed skin construction and advanced under hull design makes this a real speedy boat. Will run 30 mph with a 10hp motor on it! Cheap to build and fast- also easy, this should be your first boat too. HYDRO DYNAMIC - A 1963 Vintage 14-foot plywood HYDROPLANE RUNABOUT. The Hydroplane itself is the fastest of all hulls. Basically, it’s no more than a pair of narrow sponsons with a flat-bottomed boat body slung between and above them. At speed, the entire assembly rises to ride on the sponsons, creating a “tunnel” of air between the hull and the water- and eliminating most of the “wetted” area and its speed cutting friction called drag. Once a hydro gets up on its sponsons, no conventional hull can get anywhere near it. Up to now the amateur boat builder who was interested in a hydroplane had to be content with an ultra-light, temperamental racing hull designed to carry only one or two people. Now with this 10-page build-it-yourself plan for a true recreational three-pointer here is your chance to have your own hydroplane that can carry up to 4 people. HYDRO DYANAMIC can best be described as an easy to build three point plywood runabout hydroplane approximately 14 feet long for use with a motor in the 45 to 65 hp range; a clean modern topside design, featuring a roomy cockpit with seating for four; and the capacity to operate efficiently while towing a skier. If you have never driven a three-pointer, then you’ve missed one of the biggest thrills in boating. Like any boat as you ease the throttle lever forward the boat comes smoothly up on plane but continue to advance the throttle and Hydro Dynamic suddenly climbs to her points with an effect like cutting in the afterburner on a F16 jet. A three-point hydroplane flies over the water rather than skimming the surface like other hull designs. Now Hydro Dynamic has been deigned for general recreational use rather than flat-out racing, the sponsons are made wide and flat to support heavier load such as a group with a skier. This boat is made from exterior grade plywood and fir structural members to keep the cost down. The boat is glued and screwed together. I will provide you with the correct epoxy information to make this fun and something I know you can afford. I will also include a super article on Lofting so you understand how easy it is to read plans once you know the secret. Kayak GEODETIC KAYAK - A vintage GEODETIC Kayak. Geodetic is the hottest kayak construction , the geodetic framework of this craft gives an amazing strength-weight ratio. The absence of flat side panels eliminates much of the lateral buffeting suffered by other less streamlined types in rough water. It’s inexpensive to build. Light in weight and easy to handle, the Geodetic Kayak excels in strength and speed. The Geodetic design is stronger and lighter than any other comparative types. The principle used consists of a number of light strips twisted around the length of a structure, fastened together wherever they cross, so the entire system resists any local loads or pressures, which tend to distort other designs. This is a 10-foot boat with a 31-inch beam and anyone who builds one will have a strong light craft, capable of weathering heavy seas, and one, which can be paddled easily. The streamline design makes the boat easy to maneuver I cross winds and eliminates flat surfaces for waves to break against. The Geodetic plans are 6 pages put on a single CD, which cover step by step construction. The plans include a complete bill of material so you will know what exactly is required to start this project. You do not have to be an experienced builder, don’t be afraid to try this project – everyone who has built a boat started with their first and this is the perfect first easy to build Kayak. So if you have ever wanted to get into the lightest and fastest 10-foot Kayak at the lowest possible cost, now is your chance and this is your auction. How cool would it be to build your own Kayak! Use a low priced air-cooled engine to end up with the cheapest and most practical form of power craft that you can build. This boat is shown on a 3-page set of plans that look easy to follow. Want something different take a look at this boat CHUM - this speedy inboard runabout is designed for any automobile motor. Chum has a convex bottom (hydroconic) and is 15 ½ feet long with a beam of 6 feet, a maximum draft of 20 inches. You can use either a double cockpit or a single cockpit style for utility use. Any 25 to 100 hp engine will work just fine to power Chum. A complete bill of material is provided with this 4-page set of plans. This boat is of plywood and framing construction. Last Chum will stand up indefinitely under all conditions of usage. Great project. SEA SCOUT - This is a boat I have, it is a 14-½ foot runabout that is designed for an inboard engine however mine had now been converted over to an outboard design. It has a single cockpit design however with converted over to an outboard I now have place for 4 to 5 people. This boat has some traditional lines and is described on a 4-page plan, which includes a complete bill of material. This is one of the best-looking runabout plans you will find; don’t miss your chance at building a Sea Scout. TYPICAL POWERBOAT CONSTRUCTION - 2 pages that show a cutaway of a typical powerboat, great reference with all the parts called out so you will know what the plans are talking about. Showing the framing and planking details on the V-bottom hull of a small inboard runabout. Novelty, air boat, glass bottom, pontoon, paddle, submarine NOVEL SHOWBOAT. Showboat Brings a small and simplified edition of these famous boats within a practical building scope of anyone interested in lake or river craft, and offers, besides novelty, extraordinary economy and remarkable cabin capacity for so small a craft. The advantages of the design are plentiful. In the first place it requires nothing beyond ordinary carpentering to build and no special skill at that trade. Then again it provides the maximum of cabin space and yet draws so little water that it can be run into a safe landing wherever a few inches of water are available. On top of all that unless it is engine operated, it costs nothing in the way of fuel to run. The crew and passengers power showboat. Two old bike frames mounted side by side, are coupled quite simply to the twin stern wheel so that two ordinary persons can comfortably propel this unique ship anywhere they choose to go. Steering is by one set of handlebars using a forward rudder. Nothing is to prevent you from using a small engine instead of pedals, as there is a lot of space to mount that without any problem. One smoke stack is used as a chimney for the stove to make this look like the real thing. The construction is normal wood boards and plywood, nothing special here. This plan comes with great Construction plan pictures, inboard profile & cabin framing plan pictures, and detail of construction layout pictures so anyone can follow them building a great boat. The plans include a complete bill of material which is detail and will tell you exactly what you need, also a list of al hardware is also given once again telling you exactly what you will need to start this boat. The boat is 16 foot 4 inches long not counting the 4 foot hinged gangplank, her width is 7 foot 8 inches, and the craft is 9 foot 1 ¼ inch tall. The SHOWBOAT plans are 6 pages put on a single CD, which cover step-by-step construction. BARREL BOAT FOR CHILDREN - Made from an ordinary pickle or whisky barrel you can have an interesting boat to add to the bathing beach equipment. Children especially will like it. You use a small inner tube to help balance the boat. Easy to make and a lot of fun for the kids. Easy for Dad or Grandpa to make and hours of fun for the kids. BUZY BEE - A one man craft that you can build in a weekend for roughly $100, including the engine, Bee has a built-in viewing window, dead man’s throttle and shielded prop for added safety. It is not a toy, but a real fun boat designed to cover a lot of territory. A Plexiglas window allows skin divers or the merely curious to clearly see what’s on the bottom. You can use Buzy Bee for fishing, shell collecting, or simply puttering around in the summer sun. This boat uses a lawn mower engine that most of you have around the workshop. The finished boat is less than 80 pounds so it is easy to move around. Standard wood construction that builds easy. Lay down or sit down on this boat to go anywhere, lots of fun. LETS GO BARRELING - you have never seen a boat like this before! Nobody goes along just for the ride in a barrel-boat; everybody walks and has a barrel of fun. The easiest way to describe the barrel boat is to say that it’s like a paddle wheel steamboat without the steamboat. You can have from 1 to 7 in this boat having a great time. The Barrel is 8 feet in diameter and about just as wide with paddles around the outside. Made of plywood and normal framing lumber it is easily constructed. A complete bill of materials list for this boat is included in the 4-page set of plans. This is a great looking project and will sure gather a lot of attention on the water! PADDLE BOAT MALLARD - called Marty- Colorful appearance and pedal operated paddle wheels keep Marty’s admirers standing in line for another ride. If you can get Marty away from the kids for a while you’ll enjoy using it as much as they will and get your exercise at the same time. Especially safe for children because of built in Styrofoam flotation that will support 1000 pounds by itself. Normal plywood and framing materials are all that is required. You get a 6-page set of plans that include a complete bill of materials so you know exactly what you will need. This boat looks like a big Mallard duck paddleboat. For those duck lovers in all of us. Marty is 9 feet long and 66 inches wide. SAFE PADDLE PUSHER - Here is a sturdy and easily built scow for active young sea captains. The boy who never had a boat never had any boyhood, but there is no reason for him to be denied when you get building his first sea command as easily and inexpensively as this little scow. This is absolutely safe with buoyancy chambers in each end that will float with the cockpit full of water and a full crew aboard. this boat is 4 foot long, 20 inches wide and about 10 inches deep. Made of plywood and framing lumber makes this plan a snap for anyone. No special tools required. Great first project to get the kids interested. BUCK BOARD - This light easy to guide sailing surfboard can give you hours of fun, thrills. It’s simple to build, too. Buckboard is an easy to build sailing surfboard that will give you hours of fun and excitement on the lakes, bays, and other sheltered waterways. All you need are a few hand tools, simple materials, and a few hours of spare time in order to complete the project. This was published in Boat Builder Annual back in the spring of 1973 from Glen L. Marine designs. Buck Board is 11 foot 11 inches long and 3 feet wide. Draft 2 feet 10 inches, 66 sq. ft. sail and weighs only 85 pounds. Comes as 5 pages with everything you need to make this a fun project. FLYING SAUCER AIRBOAT - The Flying Saucer is a fast, inexpensive airboat that will take you into shallow water and marshes, over mud flats and sand bars, and still be safe, seaworthy and easy to handle in deep water. The boat carries 4 passengers. Fitted with a Continental A-65 engine this boat runs 35 mph in deep water with three passengers. Higher speeds are reached in shallow water. Hull permits boat to plane at minimum speeds. Plan includes a safe mesh-covered propeller guard. Boat is about 13 ½ feet long, 5 ½ feet wide, and 18 inches deep. Frame and plywood construction. This boat looks like a real fun project. GLASS BOTTOM BOAT OR CONVERSION - Underwater fun and adventure can be yours when you build this glass-paneled gadabout or add glass “windows” to your present boat, this plan shows you how. Glass panels in your boat will open up a colorful new world of underwater excitement. Flat bottom dingy with glass windows built in bottom. Can be used for exploring underwater marine growth, treasure hunting, looking for that old motor you lost some time ago, or just fishing on protected waters. The boats length is 9 feet 5 inches. The Beam measures 56 inches with a total boat weight of about 95 pounds. The capacity is 3 to 4 adults. The construction is plywood panels over wooden frame. Expect this boat to run about 8 – 12 mph with a 6 hp outboard motor JITTER BUG - Is safe for children or adults, this devise is easy to handle and will operate in three inches of water and provide fun for everybody. Built for exercise or sport Jitter Bug is a hybrid creation combining qualities of both the bicycle and boat. Propelled easily with its twin paddles with speeds up to 10 mph, great plan for everyone. KID’S PADDLE PUSHER - A super easy to build hand paddle boat for active young sea captains. The boat measurers 48 inches long, 20 inches wide, and about 10 inches deep. This little one night build boat looks to be a lot of fun. PADDLE WHEEL BOAT - Here is a boat that is a barrel of fun for the kids and you can build it for less than $35 (these are old day prices but this boat will be cheap to build). This boat will build in no more than a weekend for anyone who can cut wood along a line. Kids as young as 4 years old can operate this paddle wheel boat. The boat is 7 feet 9 inches long. PEDAL CAT - You can pedal or power this water cruising bicycle. This boat is a paddle-wheel driven catamaran, which you can operate much like you do a bicycle. Pedal Cat will navigate in about 3 ½ inches of water and is completely silent. If you prefer to power it with an outboard you can simply lock the outboard motor in the dead-ahead position and steer with the handlebar-controlled rudder. The boat is about 10 feet long and about 46 ½ inches wide. Plywood and wood framing construction. PEDAL BOAT – HOW TO BUILD - A streamlined pedal boat for one youngster. Its size is about 5 feet long and 48 pounds overall. Plywood and wood frame construction. A blast for the kids at the lake. POGO - A shallow daft paddle wheel flat bottomed boat. The little boat moves along at about 9 mph using an old 3 hp mower engine. The bottom is made from a single 4 x 8 foot sheet of plywood. The paddle wheel is 34 ¾” in diameter. SPORT SUBMARINE - That is right this is a plan for an electric powered sport submarine you can build. If you are a scuba or skin diver with any experience you know that an electric powered sport submarine is great for underwater exploration. Seated in such a vehicle, you can cover more bottom simply because you do not expend your energy in swimming and your precious air will last much longer. The construction can be of many different types but it looks like fiberglass, wood mold, plyfoam are a few of the ways. The Sport submarine is 8 feet long and boy does it look fun to build. The plans cover everything including battery case and steering. Now this looks like one real fine project, what fun THE BATTLE OF THE SURF BOARDS - Looks like a great project that will end up keeping the kids busy all summer having fun on these Surf boards. The boards are constructed of plywood and framing so you can get the material anywhere. The Surf Board is 8 feet long and 2 feet wide. The plans include how to build and mount a cannon on the front of the Surf Board to do battle and just have fun. The cannon can shoot discarded tennis or rubber balls, which are aimed by maneuvering the paddle board into position. Looks like an easy plan and a lot of fun for the kids TURTLE BOAT - For the Fun of it! There’s a summer of fun ahead for young skippers who step aboard this exciting paddle-wheel boat. Propulsion is by hand cranks and the rudderless craft is steered by its two paddle wheels. The flat bottom is 4 foot 11 inches however the entire boat is over 10 ½ feet long. No jig is needed to build this boat so give it a shot. The sides and center section are all clamped together. Another fun project. WATERBUG - Safe as any hull afloat, Waterbug won’t flip over frontwards, backwards or sidewards. Can ride out a rough “SEA” in a fair size pond, and it can be launched in any wading water that is over ankle deep. Construction is all available at your local lumber yard and some old bike parts for the cranks and handlebar. The craft is about 55 inches long and 30 inches wide. Two paddle wheels make this a ball of fun for everyone. Easy plans, give it a shot. PLANING PONTOON BOAT - Plans in extreme LARGE detail PDF format. This is not like any other boat on ebay, it is real special project so don’t miss your chance to build your own. This boat will be fun for the entire family. For a family sized good time. This planing pontooner is 11 feet 7 inches long with a beam of 7 feet 11 inches making it suitable for trailering. In the 11 foot 7 inch length the finished weight will be about 500 pounds with a passenger capacity of 800 pounds; this boat has been satisfactorily tested with 1500 pounds load. The nice part about this boat is you can make it as long as you like by adding two uprights per pontoon for each 24 inches in length you add, SO HOW LONG DO YOU WANT YOUR PONTOON BOAT TO BE? A 3 hp outboard motor will push this boat at about 10 miles per hour with 800 pounds on board. The construction is pyramid pontoons made from plywood over framing lumber. Platform, pontoons and awning frame separate as units for easy off-season storage. For float boat family outings, barbecues, sun bathing, fishing and hunting.
