This edition was published in 1888 and has 328 pages. The book is a hardcover edition and is written in English. It is a great addition to any historical collection. It is also an ex-library copy. The book includes President Buchanan's annual and special messages to Congress as well as an appendix of a sundry of letters from members of his cabinet at the close of his Presidential term. Items include his inaugural address, annual messages to congress in 1857, 1858, 1859, and 1860, and 25 special messages on various subjects of the day. Also included are communications from Horatio King, Joseph Holt, Secretary of War under President Lincoln and Secretary Seward to C. F. Adams, U.S. Minister to Great Britain. This book has been previously owned and shows some normal shelf wear due to its age and use. The spine is slightly loose from the bottom of the front board. (see photos) Corners are in very good condition and the binding is solid. The boards are excellent and the pages have no marks. The book originally belonged to the Wabash College Library founded in 1832, Crawfordsville, Indiana, and still in operation.
