Description: This is a hardcover copy of "Elgin Illinois and Surroundings 1891”. This is an extremely rare book, the only other copy I found anywhere being in a library. The gilt on the cover is still vibrant! It contains approx. 70 pages and has many photographs. It measures approx. 9 1/8” x 6 1/4” x 1/4". This is a presumed First Edition, as no other copyright or date is stated. I think this book was self published by the city, as no publisher, author, or printer is noted. The pictures above show the condition of the actual book you will receive, as I don't use stock photography. This book is in very good condition, but it does show some expected wear consistent with age. It is old and it looks old! The front and back cover have come away a bit, and there is an original owner’s name and “Christmas 1891” inscription, see photos.
