Description: Presented is a stunning platinum and diamond pin or brooch. This piece was made in the late 1920s or mid 1930s, in the height of the Art Deco time period. The pin is done in a circular design, set with 30 old mine cut diamonds all the way around. The diamonds graduate in size from the smallest at the top to thelargest at the bottom of the circle, with the smallest being about 3 points in size and the largest being about 85 points in size. The largest center diamond is significantly larger than the next largest diamonds on either side, which are about 22 points each in size. The largest diamond is an extraordinarily high quality stone, of VVS clarity and G color. Our gemologist has examined this diamond under 45x magnification and even at that level of magnification it is eye-clean. The rest of the diamonds are VS to SI clarity, and are quite dazzling and vibrant in their own right. The total diamond weight for the pin is about 3.5 carats. The platinum setting has an elegant milgrain finish, which compliments the diamonds beautifully. The pin has a lever safety style clasp. The brooch is in great condition. The diamonds are securely set. The clasp functions well and closes securely. The brooch is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee the entirety of the brooch to be platinum, except for the pin shaft which is 14 karat gold. The pin is about 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The pin weighs 9.4 grams. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
