Description: Excellent Condition Vintage Child's Size WW I - 1942 Doughboy Style Steel Army Helmet Rare child's-size steel helmet in fantastic original condition produced between WW I and early WW II from a Collector's Estate in the Pacific Northwest. Based on the paper advertising on the inside of the helmet, we're estimating it was produced in the the 1930s. During our research, we viewed examples that have sold online (auctions and eBay) over the past 10 years. Of the very few helmets we found in similar, excellent condition, none still had the paper advertising in the center of the coir padding. It's just great! Measures: 9 1/2 inches diameter across the bottom helmet lid ~ 7 inches inner diameter (fits a small adult head or most older child-sized heads) SELLER NOTES: Exceptional Condition - Extraordinarily clean. Far less wear than expected for age. No dents or even small dings. Original paint in great shape with minimal loss only in a few smaller spots. Still has the inside coir fiber padding and, incredibly, the original paper advertising in the center. Original strap is intact showing moderate soiling (disconnected on one side). Truly amazing example overall for old vintage / near antique age. See photos and use zoom. Our goals are to provide excellent service, represent items accurately, and ensure smooth transactions.
