ARTIST) (Rare example, Sand Painting ??) SIZE: aprox. 6x9 unframed MEDIUM: mixed media, appears to have sand ? and textured quality. CONDITION: RESTORATION NEEDED - some areas of loss and a tear at the top of the board (see photos). Overall in need of some restoration in the upper and lower edges. Some previous frame rub and general age spots and wear can be seen. Sold as found, vintage condition. REF: Restoration needed (see photos). Rare piece by early California listed artist, Evalyn Parslow. Active as a painter, teacher, and writer. Taught art in New York and later lived in Los Angeles -died in 1951. This work appears to be from before 1940...based on the age of the back could be from around 1920 20s to 1930s era (see photos). Restoration is needed - but works by this artist appear to be quite rare. Signed lower left, "E. Ashley Parslow".
