Embroidered Linen Tablecloth Folk Art 65x110” Crewel DETAILED Vintage S America

Description: The handiwork on this tablecloth is AMAZING!! I wish I could add more photos- but tried to give an overall description through the photos. I know very little about textiles- so bear with me as I do my best to describe this (and feel free to ask any question or give any information). I believe this is Guatemalan- definitely South American. The linen tablecloth is very large 65.6x110.5”, and in overall excellent condition (flaws noted are in last two photos). The 16 embroidered people measure 8.5” tall, and each one is a work of art- no two the same. The details in the faces, the clothing, even the skin is shaded with tiny dotted stitches. I can send more photos of each person if you like- each has their own unique face, coloring, clothing. The back is almost as pretty as the front (photo number 15 is a pic of the back and photo #16 is a closeup of the back of one of the girls). The edge is folded and hand stitched, there’s a lovely border of pink and green. Around the edges are also little pictures- a llama, a thatched roof house, a church, flowers, a rising sun, and a pot that I’m pretty sure has the artists name stitched in (chichi ? See photo). I can not imagine how many many hours are in this piece of art. I found one tiny stain- it’s photographed, and something that looks like a pencil mark (also photographed) I’m pretty sure the pencil mark will wash out, but since I have a tendency to ruin things when I try to fix them I’m leaving it for you. The little dot that I think is a stain (might wash out too..) is just a 1/4 of an inch. INCREDIBLE work of art. I think I have all the pertinent details- look over the photos as they are the best description.
