Description: AMAZING PIECE OF MUSIC AND MOVIE HISTORY!! ULTRA RARE ORIGINAL 1957 Jailhouse Rock Elvis Presley ORIGINAL Advertising Theater Lobby Movie Poster Framed .. 11x14.. No rips and the color is great.. Wednesday/Thursday is written on the back in ball point pen (the days it was playing in the theater i imagine) but does not show through.. I obtained this recently from an estate auction in which the people had a ton of collectibles from the early 1900s through the early 80s.. Background: A rare find for those who love “god of rock and roll.” This is an authentic 1957 “Jailhouse Rock” official studio issued movie poster with a scene from the movie " Elvis Presley draws punishment for a Jailhouse brawl".. These were dispersed specifically for theater showcasing and were supposed to be returned to the National screen service corp afterwards. This is NOT a reproduction. Note the disclaimer and copyright at the bottom of the poster. Bottom Center: “Country of Origin U.S.A” Bottom Right: “Property of National Screen Service Corp. Licensed for display only in connection with the exhibition of this picture at your theatre. Must be returned immediately thereafter.” Bottom Left: “Copyright 1957 Loew’s Incorporated.” Numbered: 57-533 which is the # assigned to signal property of the national screen service and to be returned after showing.. It goes without saying that Original 1957 Jailhouse Rock Studio Release Theatrical Posters are a near impossible find. This is in great condition considering its 65 years old, and the color is holding up great.. an amazing piece for any serious Presley fan’s already established, or blossoming collection. Poster Itself: 11x14" ...The color is great and looks amazing in person for something 65 years old. No fold lines on this one as at this size could have been shipping without having to do that.. There is one small unnoticeable crease in the right top running from the edge to the police mans hat.. There is light discoloration at the bottom left of the poster and minor imperfections in the bottom corners (see photos above). Design: What makes this poster so visually stunning, in my mind, are its exquisite colors. The colors are vibrant, solid, and remarkably unfaded over time. Frame: This movie poster is framed. The frame is not expensive but plastic instead of glass so it can not break and have the glass ruin the lobby poster The back of the lobby poster is signed “Wednesday/ Thursday” which would indicate the days it was showing..The new owner will undoubtedly want to frame this to their liking..
