Materials: Electrotype. Dimensions: 287mm tall x 185mm long x 127mm wide. Makers marks: Unmarked. Condition: There is an old repair to the finial, the cherub has been broken off and re attached. Some wear and tarnishing to the silver plate interior. Wear commensurate with age and use. Notes: A stunning Victorian electrotype tankard depicting the story of Silenius, made after a 17th century tankard. Although this is not marked, an exact same tankard was offered in Sotheby's 10th November 2021 sale "Gold Boxes, Silver and Ceramics" lot 108, which was signed "Elkington Mason & Co.
