The useful capacity of the reel is 7.5 m of film, which allows you to obtain 15 m of film. Description: In 1967, the Kazan Optical-Mechanical Plant (KOMZ) began production of the small-sized narrow-film film camera Ekran-4. The camera was designed for 2x8 mm. film (16 mm film) 10 m long (7.5 m after trimming the exposed ends) on a standard reel. The film was exposed in two passes and, after development, was cut along the center line into two parts. A distinctive feature of the camera is a rotating turret with three lenses. The main standard lens "Saturn-6" is 1.8/12.5. And the other two had afocal attachments of 0.5 and 2 diopters and allowed shooting with different capture angles. No focusing was provided. The lens provided frame sharpness from 1 m to infinity. Shooting frequency 8, 16, 24, 48 fps. and time-lapse photography. The camera drive is spring driven. One plant was enough for 2 m of film stretching. The footage counter showed the remaining film. Yellow and gray filters were also built into the camera, which were selected by turning the ribbed wheel on the left side of the camera. There was also a ring for setting the film sensitivity and an aperture ring, duplicated with the same one on the right side. The aperture is set semi-automatically according to the arrow of the built-in exposure meter in the field of view. Semi-automatic aperture setting ensures quick shooting and eliminates the possibility of errors in determining exposure. The main lens - a three-lens anastigmat - provides a sharp image of shooting objects without focusing over a wide range of distances (from 1 m to infinity). Replaceable optics on the rotating turret (telescopic attachments 2 and 0.5x) allow you to shoot at different scales. When fully wound, the spring drive pulls 2 m of film. The shooting frequency of 8, 16, 24 and 48 fps, time-lapse shooting, a footage counter showing the amount of remaining unexposed film, compactness and light weight, as well as built-in filters and various accessories included in the film camera set distinguish it from other cameras.
