Description: Edmund Scientific Zoom Optical Device For sale- an Edmund Scientific Optical Device as pictured. I took the assembly apart hoping to find a model or part number on it without success. So I can only describe it to you based on what I see. I think, THINK it would be used with a video camera screw mounted to the end opposite the zoom lens. The zoom is actuated with an Applied Motion Products 5023-167 Step Motor. I do not have a controller for the stepper motor. This was pulled off of a specialty Nikon microscope used for ballistics analysis, whether it can be employed in another application I leave to your imagination. Great physical condition, untested, presumed to be functional. The markings on the zoom lens start at .7 and go to 4, with additional gradations beyond that. So maybe 5X zoom. You can look through the lens and manually adjust it and see the zoom effect happening, so pretty safe bet the optical part of the equation works OK. I think the biggest issue would be interfacing with the step motor. If you don’t need the step motor please feel free to make me an offer stating that.
