Description: Unusual Chinese cloisonné large bowl with a mark I have never seen. If you know the meaning please let me know so I can include it in the description. I know most Chinese marks are spurious but this my not be Ming but it is old. The bowl is eight and a half inches diameter. The height is 4 inches. I believe the subject matter is the eight immortals. I have seen a lot of Chinese and Japanese cloisonné over the past 50 years but this piece doesn’t look like most Chinese cloisonné that is mass produced and is much more recent. The feel of the cloisonné isn’t smooth it has s sandpaper texture. The workmanship seems more like folk craft than ordinary Chinese cloisonné. Let me know what you think.
