Early Fantastic Antique Anatolian Turkish Konya Yastic Mat Caterpillar Border

Description: This listing is for An Early Fantastic Antique Anatolian Turkish Konya Yastic Mat with what I think is a Green Caterpillar Border Design , Measuring 21x36 inches overall , most probably Pre 1880 and possibly earlier than that. It Weighs about 960 grams net. pre1880 in age. All Natural dyes. I would not be surprised if it is 18 th Century. Of note is use of Aubergine in border. Also other suggestions as to border design being Goat Heads , and I don't know how but someone saw elephant design, but in my opinion Green Caterpillars would be the best fitting border design. Double geometrical star design medallions. Wool pile and warp and weft. In as shown condition with what is there in excellent condition and loss to one end as shown. Not washed while in my possession but it is overall clean. Great mounting / display piece . If you have additional notes on this rug, do please let me know. Tantalizing colors. Best of the best.
