Description: Up for bid is a fine old, likely 18th century Dutch? brass round snuff box. The piece is about 2 ½ inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. It has a slide on lid. The lid and back are both decorated with flat-chased scroll work; the top has a bust of a soldier in profile and the back has a building in a landscape. The side has two scenes of birds and trees and another with two buildings. There are no marks. Condition on the box is fair. The vertical seam in the side is coming apart, and the metal has a horizontal crack to the left. It still closes tightly and there are no major dings. There is regular wear from use, and minor rust spots in the interior from something that was stored in it. An interesting old snuff box!
