Description: Offering a RARE 18th century Early American Ladder Back Side Chair. This great primitive chair originated from the Delaware River Valley; including the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. The back has four arched reverse graduated slats with decorative finials. The Paint is a dark reddish brown with gold accents. There is evidence that it was originally painted blue. The upholstered seat has very old fabric and is in very good condition considering its age. Warm and rich in color, the patina on this piece beautifully demonstrates its natural age and exquisite character. The chair measures approximately 49" high x 18 1/2" wide x 15" deep. Please see photos for details.
