Signed, Replice Scott G Taltie. Super early example of Haida art.These totems were copy’s of the originals and were made for the tourist trade. Made in British Columbia Canada. The Haida Gwaii Indians and First Nations of the Pacific Northwest lived in the Haida Gwaii archipelago or known now as Queen Charlotte islands in the central coast of British Columbia, Canada for an estimated 12,500 years or longer. They were masters of trade and highly prized and thought after for there exquisite style of wood carving and painting. Beautifully carved and painted. Rare to see such a early example!
