Description: This antique English copper & pink lusterware jug from the early 19th century showcases exquisite craftsmanship with beautifully applied sprig decorations. It features a delicate pink and copper luster banded decoration with pearlware glaze, and was made in the United Kingdom in a neo-classic influenced style. It measures approximately 6-1/2" from spout tip to backside of the handle. The rim measures approximately 3-5/8" in diameter, not including the spout. It stands 4-3/8" tall at the highest point of the jug. It is in absolutely beautiful estate condition with NO chips, NO repairs and NO restorations. The neck of the jug features a sprig garland. The body of ther jug shows 3 different sprig reserves, including an eagle or gryphon, a horse drawn cart, and cherubs. The bottom shows a tight spider line, as shown in the photo. The maker is unknown, but the authenticity and originality of this piece can be attested by its age, circa 1830. This jug is a wonderful addition to any collection of antique English pottery.
