Description: Since you cannot cut a Type B pipe to fit in an exact space, this component slides onto the male end of another piece of Type B pipe by use of a double wall sleeve to add another 3" to 10" of length to that pipe when you can't get a standard length of pipe to fit. Sliding it back and forth over the other pipe, you can adjust the correct length to between 3" and 10". Then you tighten the screw on the outer sleeve of this pipe to seal it tight. You can also connect another brand of Type B pipe to the Dura Vent pipe by sliding this pipe over the male end of the other brand pipe, thus being able to repair another brand of pipe or lengthen it without having to replace all of it with Dura Vent. The 4th photo shows this adjustable piece slipped over a standard length of pipe. Type B double-wall air-insulated pipe is an inexpensive solution for an expensive chimney when venting gas appliances. Gas appliances produce a huge amount of water vapor during combustion that can condense inside chimneys and damaging them and leaking through walls. This insulated pipe maintains high flue temperatures and reduces condensation inside the vent. The higher flue temperatures also maintains a higher draft, which is important when carbon monoxide is involved. This Type B vent or chimney takes up a lot less space than most other chimneys, especially a brick and mortar chimney and can be closer to flammable materials, as close as 1 inch, than most other chimneys or single wall flue pipes can be to combustibles. This double-wall pipe with aluminum inner wall for corrosion resistance and galvanized steel outer pipe for strength is a Type B gas component and consists of the DuraLock system for a tight seal. This pipe can be used as a vent or chimney for venting listed natural gas or liquid propane Category I, draft hood appliances, or appliances that have been specifically tested and listed to use Type B Gas Vent. Typically, Furnaces, Water Heaters, Boilers, Room Heaters, Decorative Gas Appliances, and Unit Heaters can vent to Type B vents. These appliances can also be vented to the vent or chimney using Type B vent pipe as an insulated flue pipe, To calculate installed length, subtract 1 1/2” from each pipe to compensate for overlap with the DuraLock connection of one pipe to the next. A 1” clearance (air space) to combustible materials must be maintained around the pipe. To calculate OD add 5/8”. UL Listed. Formerly brand was Simpson Dura-Vent. Not suitable for venting oil, coal, pellet or woodburning appliances, or fumes containing grease that could ignite. After 43 years, we closed down our chimney sweep business and a year later are selling all our brand new inventory for 50% (or more) off wholesale list prices. We are much cheaper than most others on eBay, as we are not trying to make a profit, but need to clear out our inventory for good at a loss. Once one of our listings is sold out, it is gone for good. We were a service business, so we don't mind answering any technical or aesthetic questions about these products and how they work. Will do combined shipping.
