Maps By Charles Muller. Edited By William Smith and George Grove London: John Murray, 1874 Atlas includes 43 large, detailed maps. All maps are present. This is an important atlas and maps have nice color. Elephant folio. Pages measure 13x 20 thus single page maps are 13 x 20 and double paged maps are 26 x 20. 17 maps are single paged and 26 are double paged. Atlas lacks boards and title pages. Most maps are in nice shape. However, maps 40-43 have a fold from top to bottom through the middle. Map 43 has a tear along this fold. Map 40 crease is less severe than 41 which is less than 42 etc.. Otherwise maps themselves have few issues. Some light browning, wear and dings. There is water staining at back of book along where folds are lightly impacting these maps. A couple of the two-page (double sized) maps have small tears along top or bottom crease in the book. I believe all the text describing maps is present.
