Description: Up for bid is a very nice copy of LOCATION PIECE #2, NEW YORK CITY- SEATTLE, WASHINGTON by the acclaimed American artist DOUGLAS HUEBLER . This multiple was created in 1970 for the seminal artist's portfolio entitled ARTISTS & PHOTOGRAPHS. Published by Multiples,Inc. in association with Colorcraft,Inc., New York. The Huebler contribution consists of an offset printed envelope containing 19 offset lithographs (16 printed on heavy cardstock, 2 location sheets printed on thin stock and 1 statement sheet). All contents are in excellent vintage condition, with very minimal handling wear to the storage envelope as shown. Envelope measures 7.5" x 7.5", and the prints measure 7"x 7". This boxed portfolio included works by: Mel Bochner, Christo, Jan Dibbets, Tom Gormley, Dan Graham, Douglas Huebler, Allan Kaprow, Michael Kirby, Joseph Kosuth, Sol LeWitt, Richard Long, Robert Morris, Bruce Nauman, Dennis Oppenheim, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, Robert Smithson, Bernar Venet and Andy Warhol. The edition size for the A&P portfolio is purported to be 1200, however there were only 200 of the complete boxed sets. It has been widely discussed that the edition size of 1200 was never actually completed, and the true edition size for many of these multiples is much less. Several of these multiples were also sold individually. Please note that the Dan Graham designed storage box has already been sold, and is not included in this auction.
