Description: This is a copy of the original mail order release of Doom from a Canadian distributor. To my knowledge it is the first copy that has been found that can positively be described as originating in canada; the floppy disks are marked as 'assembled in canada' and are an unusual sky blue color with handwritten numbers on them. The manual and disks are in excellent physical shape, though the box itself shows a fair amount of wear around the edges. The upper flap is creased and the left side shows a small bend as if the box was squished. I have loaded the disks on pc to verify that this is a v1.1 edition of the game, but PLEASE NOTE: Disks one and two triggered an antivirus alert for a boot sector virus. (Virus:DOS/B1). It is my understanding that this specific virus can not affect a modern OS but I am disclosing its existence regardless. I have not done anything to remove or alter the files on the disk.
