The features on the tongs include the figural face of a bearded man, in an Art Nouveau style pattern on both sides. The tongs measures approximately 5 inches long, weigh 1.425 ozt., & are marked with the Dominick & Haff mark sterling & the retailer JAMES ALLAN & CO, (Charleston, SC 1855-,jeweler, retailer, silversmith). The tongs are in very good antique estate condition; NO DENTS OR REPAIRS. THERE IS SOME LIGHT SCRATCHING & WEAR CONSISTENT WITH THE AGE OF THE PIECE & NORMAL USAGE.
