Description: I have a Dillon XL-650 progressive reloading machine. The Dillon XL-650 along with other Dillon models have a powder measure failsafe system that retracts the powder bar to its recharge position. The problem was the white shoulder bushing would not stay in the slotted failsafe return bracket. When the handle was pulled down the shoulder bushing would slip out of the failsafe return bracket and would snap back into the slotted return bracket when the handle was moved to the up position. Over time the white shoulder bushing would break in half as you can see in the pictures. To fix this I designed a new White Shoulder Bushing and a Orange Retaining Washer, the Orange retaining washer holds the White Shoulder Bushing in the slotted return bracket. The Orange Washer is pressed onto the White Shoulder Bushing with just finger pressure and easily separated with a small flat screwdriver when you want to remove the failsafe rod. I eliminated the spring cup from the shoulder Bushing because the failsafe rod aligns the spring with the White Shoulder Bushing. This bushing replaces your white plastic bushing #18086 that is broken in the the picture. You get the Orange Retaining Washer and White Shoulder Bushing that you install on your failsafe rod. Every thing else in the pictures are for reference only and are not included. Shipping to the USA Lower 48 only. If your still on the fence with doubt about my bushings, Please check out the feedback I'm getting on the bushings. NOTE! (The Bushing and Washer are shipped pressed together and need to be pulled apart using your fingers to Install on failsafe rod) The last five pictures show how I install the bushing. #1 move the handle down. #2 remove old bushing and install new orange washer and white bushing on fail safe rod#3 move rod through the slot to hole in the fail safe rod bracket#4 slide white bushing up into round hole in fail safe rod bracket#5 slide the orange retaining washer down over the top of the white bushing and pinch it tight to remove all slack between the orange washer, the bracket, and the white bushing #6 any questions please ask me Thanks for looking, Gary Question In the sixth picture sent from a customer of his failsafe rod with an original Dillon broken shoulder bushing on the rod. He asked if My shoulder bushing and retaining washer replaces this white broken one? Thank you, Gary Answer; YES Question "Would this work on the 550B as well?" Answer; YES I looked at the dillon precision web site. There is a RL550 parts list and a Square deal B parts list and they both show the same bushing that the XL650 uses part#18086. The diameter of my fail safe rod is .180 inch and the bushing fits over that size rod. Question; Will this work with a Dillon XL750 Answer; The XL750 bushing part#18086 is the same bushing that the XL650 uses part#18086. Two pictures show the XL750s failsafe return bracket with the original white bushing. If this is what you have, then Yes my White Shoulder Bushing and Orange Retaining Washer will replace it. It will fit, wont fall out, and wont break. Thanks for looking, Gary
