Description: DEAR CHARLES, 3 Sheet Poster, No Theatre, Tour, 1955. The Alan Melville play (adapted from the French by Marc-Gilbert Sauvajon and Frederick Jackson) opened in NYC on 09/15/54 and ran for 155 performances. The cast includes Tallulah Bankhead, Robert Coote, Patsy Kelly, Theodore Newton, Werner Klemperer, William Roerick, Norah Howard, Larry Robinson, Tom Raynor, Grace Raynor, Peter Pell and Ruth Hartley. Directed by Edmund Baylies. The photo was taken standing on a step ladder, hence the slanted appearance, but the poster is rectangular. Some of the posters have minor tears or short creases in the folds which have been repaired on the back with thin archive tape. Condition is very good with minor wear. 3 Sheet Posters are advertising theatre posters printed on heavy paper and usually come folded in more than one section like old billboards -- hence the name. Commonly displayed in subway stations and most famously in areas like Shubert Alley in Manhattan's Theatre District. This is NOT a reproduction!! CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. IMAGES: I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
