Darling 18” Antique Wax Over Composition Shoulder Head Doll

Description: This darling 18” antique German doll is a wax over composition shoulder head with a closed mouth, brown glass paperweight eyes, and her original long pale blonde hand-weft mohair wig. She has a closed mouth with hand painted features including multi stroke eyebrows. Her body is a stuffed muslin with lower bisque arms and hands that are cupped. She comes to you wearing beautiful clothing including antique cotton pantaloons with lace trim, a full antique white cotton slip with a ruffle at the hemline. Her dress is an antique off white print with pale brown design. Her bodice however is covered with a gorgeous cotton embroidered eyelet that is also featured as a ruffle at her neckline. The dress ties with an antique brown satin ribbon that is very delicate and can’t remove due to this fact. Don’t want to forget she wears an eyelet bonnet that matches the bodice of her dress as well. She also wears antique brown stockings and old off white leather shoes with original ties and fancy decorations at the toes. Looking her over I do not see any damage to her shoulder plate, a slight nose rub and eyebrow rub and her clothing has some stains due to age. All in all a beautiful and very nice example of a wax over composition. Also want to mention that she won a ribbon of first place at a Doll Show.
