Description: This is a custom 1/6 scale 12" figure commemorating one of my favorite tv shows and characters, Daniel Boone played by Fess Parker. Fess Parker did a great job portraying Boone, a real American hero and frontiersman from the early days of American history. Boone was an explorer, pioneer, and frontiersman who's legendary exploits made him one of the first American folk heroes to a new country. The tv series Daniel Boone was on NBC from September 24, 1964 through May 7, 1970 (165 episodes). The show dealt with the period of Boone's life after he had settled down and started a family. Boone and his wife Rebecca (played by Patricia Blair) had two children Israel (played by Darby Hinton) and Jemima (played by Veronica Cartwright). Those actors did a great job portraying a family trying to make a home in the wilderness settlement of Boonesborough. Also in the series were friends of the Boone's - Yadkin (Albert Salmi) during season 1, Mingo (Ed Ames) season 1-4, Josh Clement (Jimmy Dean) 1968-1970, and Gabe Cooper (Rosey Grier) 1969-1970. No matter if it was wild animals, the weather, Indians, outlaws, or Dan was trying to outwit British soldiers, the show always had a good story and great characters. Sometimes you can find this show on channels that show old television shows or on dvd. Please note that while this figure does not look exactly like Fess Parker / Daniel Boone there is a bit of a resemblance. This item was designed for display and would make a nice addition to any collection. Please note the figure is fairly articulate and displays nicely. sold as is. stand included.
