The works in the Pharmaceutical Sculpture Series were first exhibited at the Paul Stolper Gallery, in London in October 2014 and act as a continuation of Damien Hirst’s life-long investigation into an almost-spiritual relationship with the rigors of science and the pharmaceutical industry. Hirst created a body of Pharmaceutical Sculptures, including medicine bottles, pharmaceutical boxes, ampoules, syringes, a scalpel and drug packaging that all play with concepts of scale – the tallest measuring nearly one and a half meters. The limited editions continue Damien Hirst's exploration of contemporary belief systems; religion, love, art and medicine.
