Description: Mr. Dale Chihuly signed for me IN PERSON his CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED BOOK 'Chandeliers & Towers.' Dale Chihuly was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1941. He was first introduced to glass while studying interior design at the University of Washington. He received a B.A. in Interior Design from the University of Washington in 1965, an M.S. in Sculpture from the University of Wisconsin in 1967, and an M.F.A. in Ceramics from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 1968. He later established the glass program at RISD and taught for over a decade. In 1968, he was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to work at the Venini glass factory in Venice, Italy. In 1971, he co-founded Pilchuck Glass School in Washington. His work is included in over two hundred museum collections worldwide. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including seven honorary doctorates and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. He is one of only three American artists to have held his own exhibition at the Louvre in Paris and was named America's first National Living Treasure in 1992.
