Description: An ORIGINAL CUTTING IRON CLAMP BRACKET for a Record No. 050 plane by the Record Tool Works, Sheffield, England. As with the Stanley No. 50, the equivalent of the Record 050, when 1/8" and 3/16" cutting irons were made available, the geometry of the plane would not allow securing the cutter using the central sliding section as cutters this narrow were not contemplated when the plane was designed. Using this bracket in place of the sliding section allows the plane to use these extra narrow irons. A frequently missing plane component in top condition in the bottom section of its original box.
