Description: This is a clearish curved shaped Faden quartz crystal point which is made up of smaller multiple healed double terminated crystals and was collected from Pakistan. This Faden crystal specimen is in great condition and measures 2.20 inches long by 0.76 inches wide. The term which is used to describe this crystal type is Faden which is German for 'thread'. Faden quartz forms in fissures in hard rock that is slowly expanding, most commonly in Alpine-type fissures. As the fissures widen the quartz crystals forming inside the pocket in a silica rich solution rupture but then heal quickly. The repeated rupturing and re-growing / healing leaves a 'scar' of liquid and gas inclusions inside the crystal which looks like a white thread or Faden.
