Description: Was on the USS Croatan. This is a first edition of Cryptography by Laurence Smith. This was a library book and is stamped on the edges as such. See my pictures. It seems that only one person, the author (Laurence Smith) logged the book out and never returned it. The library that contained this book was on the USS Croatan (CVE-14) (originaly AVG-14 ) was transferred to the United Kingdom 27 February 1943 under lend-lease where she served as the HMS Fencer. As an anti-submarinewarfare carrier, the Fencer escorted Atlantic, Russian and African convoys . There is so much more to read about this.
